Glenn Beck's close friend and best selling author Vince Flynn’s book
American Assassin will be made into a CBS Films movie. It will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff. You might recognize Nachmanoff's work from Showtime’s series
Homeland.
Homeland is produced by Howard Gordon with whom Glenn Beck is also working on a series. Nachmanoff wrote the scripts for
The Day After Tomorrow and the upcoming film
The Last Stand staring Arnold Schwarzenegger. As reported by
Collider.com "CBS Films previously planned on beginning the potential Mitch Rapp franchise with
Consent to Kill, but decided
Assassin provided a better starting point. The film really hinges on who plays Rapp, and CBS Films plans on going with a younger actor."
While
American Assassin is the 11th in Flynn’s Mitch Rapp it stands as a prequel to the entire series. Mitch Rapp was driven the the CIA when his High School Mary (Maureen) Eliot, now attending Syracuse University with Rapp, was killed in a airline bombing.
